Minnesota Zoo Announces Sale of Specially-Labeled Wines
Wine named after sea otters & bears; proceeds benefit animal conservation

Apple Valley, MN – May 19, 2008: In celebration of the opening of the Minnesota Zoo’s landmark exhibit Russia’s Grizzly Coast on June 7, 2008, The Wine Market by Kristen & Bob Kowalski is promoting two specially-labeled wines featuring two of the exhibit’s marquee animals – grizzly bears and sea otters.

Kristen and Bob Kowalski are donating 20 percent of each bottle sold of the Russia’s Grizzly Coast wine—now through June 13 at The Wine Market locations—to the Minnesota Zoo in support of its world-wide conservation efforts. “We are committed to the Zoo because of its pioneering work in conservation,” said Bob Kowalski. ”The Zoo is working locally and internationally to help create awareness of the world’s threatened species and what’s needed for their survival.”

The award-winning wines are from the heart of Napa Valley, California.

The grizzly bear cabernet sauvignon features aromas of ripe black cherries, raspberries and French vanilla. Soft elegant tannis lead to a smooth finish. It’s a medium full-bodied wine with forward fruit flavors of boysenberry and raspberry. The sea otter chardonnay offers fragrant tropical aromas of fresh pineapple and coconut wrapped around layers of apricot and vanilla with a touch or crème Brule. It’s a well-balanced, medium-bodied wine.

The signature wines are available at both of The Wine Market locations: Tamarack Hills Woodbury and In the Village at Mendota Heights. Learn more at thewinemarket.us.
